I can help you with your business model and the startup process, prioritizing tasks, a startup cost analysis, product development, product positioning to your customers, marketing strategy, financial models, sourcing and working with manufacturers, supply contracts, forecasting, international sourcing and sales, strategic partnership development, your personal strategic plan and business plan. I have founded or co-founded three companies and acted as President and CEO. I know what is required in starting with just an idea and creating a successful consumer products company.

I was co-founder of Windsurfing Hawaii, Inc., The Balance Bar Company (food bars and beverages), and The FRS Company (beverage), and was with them until the companies were sold. Balance Bar was started in 1992, went public in 1998, and was sold to Kraft Foods in 2000. I am on the Board and a co-Founder of the NutriSoda brand. I started my business career as an engineer at GE’s Fast Breeder Reactor Department and went from there to become VP, International Operations, for Windsurfing International and President of the International Windsurfer Class Association.

I have been a Score mentor since 2011 and have mentored a number of successful startups. I greatly enjoy interacting with ambitious younger people who are willing to work hard to achieve their business goals are willing to consider advice and direction from battle-scarred veterans like me.

Education 

I have a BS and MS from Cornell University in Thermal Engineering, a Reactor Engineering Certificate from Bettis Atomic Power Labs, and have taken numerous courses in business law, accounting, and real estate.
